Privacy policy
Your photos stay yours.
Filmglass is made by me, Kevin, through Wonderful Lasers Inc. This page explains what happens to your information when you use the Filmglass app and this website.
Effective
In short
- Filmglass doesn’t collect any personal data.
- There’s no account, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- Your photos and recipes stay on your iPhone and in your Photos library unless you choose to share them.
The app
Nothing collected.
Filmglass doesn’t collect, store or send personal information to me or anyone else. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, third-party code or tracking, and it doesn’t connect to any server of mine. Everything Filmglass does with your photos happens on your iPhone.
Information kept on your iPhone
Your recipes and settings are stored inside the app on your iPhone. Deleting Filmglass removes them. Photos you take are saved to your Photos library, in an album called Filmglass, and stay there if you delete the app.
Sharing recipes
When you share a recipe, Filmglass creates a small file containing the recipe’s name, icon and settings, and passes it to the app or person you choose through the iOS share sheet. Filmglass doesn’t send it anywhere else. The service you use to share it, such as Messages or Mail, handles it under its own privacy policy.
Permissions
Only what it needs.
Filmglass asks for these permissions only to make its features work. The information stays on your iPhone.
- Camera
- To show the viewfinder and take photos.
- Photos
- To save your photos and show them in the pile, so you can view, share and develop them again.
- Location
- Only if you turn on Location Tag Photos, which is off by default. Filmglass adds where a photo was taken to the photo itself. When you share a photo, iOS lets you choose whether to include its location.
- Motion
- To show a level horizon guide in the viewfinder.
You can change these at any time in the Settings app under Apps → Filmglass.
Apple
App Store and TestFlight.
Apple handles downloads, purchases and payments through the App Store under Apple’s privacy policy. I don’t receive your payment details.
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may give me crash reports and usage statistics that don’t identify you. I use them only to fix problems and improve Filmglass.
If you join the beta through TestFlight, Apple shares the feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send, along with the details described in TestFlight’s own terms.
This website
No cookies.
This website has no cookies, analytics, forms or tracking, and doesn’t load anything from other websites. Like most web hosts, my hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Emailing me
Just to reply.
If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it only to reply and help with your question. I don’t share it or add you to a mailing list, and I delete it when it’s no longer needed.
Everything else
The small print.
Children
Filmglass doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If Filmglass changes how it handles information, I’ll update this page and the effective date at the top before the change takes effect.
